Brand Is Still in Limbo
The Clippers said Sunday they haven’t ruled out Elton Brand’s return to the court before the end of the season. They also haven’t said they expect Brand, their leading scorer and rebounder, to sit out the rest of the season.
Brand continues to seek medical opinions of the stress fracture in his left leg.
“Elton is still getting opinions and until you hear Elton say he’s closing the books on the season, there’s still a chance,” interim Coach Dennis Johnson said. “[But] I would be crazy to stick him out there. Until he says he’s ready or not, we’ll just leave it where it is.”
Where it is today is that Brand will sit out his 12th game, when the Clippers face the Lakers at Staples Center.
