Officer Gets 45 Days for Spanking Daughter

A Stockton police officer has been sentenced to 45 days in jail for excessively spanking his 6-year-old daughter.
Jared L. Moore, 33, pleaded no contest in March to the misdemeanor child abuse charge.
An emergency room doctor called authorities after seeing the girl’s severe bruises during a weekend visit at the officer’s Lodi home in November.
Moore and the child’s mother are divorced.
Moore was placed on paid administrative leave Monday, Deputy Chief Wayne Hose said.
His future as a police officer will depend on an internal investigation, Hose said.
