Firm to Add, Renovate Base Housing Units

A private construction firm plans to begin building more than 900 housing units and renovating nearly 2,400 others on Camp Pendleton within the next two weeks.
The Hunt Building Corp., in partnership with Lincoln Property Co. and the Navy, says it will build 906 new units, but is scheduled to raze 829 units. A total of 77 new units will be added to the Camp Pendleton housing inventory.
In addition, Lincoln officials said 2,391 renovations will open up 75 old, formerly uninhabitable units.
