How do I get an absentee ballot for the Oct. 7 recall election?
There are several ways to request an absentee ballot.
The application is included in the sample ballot pamphlets mailed out by county elections officials to registered voters several weeks before the election.
Voters in some counties, including Los Angeles, can print absentee ballot application forms from county elections Web sites. Those forms must be mailed to the registrar.
You can request an absentee ballot by sending your county registrar a letter listing your name, signature and registered address and a valid mailing address.
The last day to request an absentee ballot is Sept. 30.
But voters who already have permanent absentee voting status should automatically receive their ballots in the mail.
