Bikinis are the real lure here

After years of broadcasting plain men landing fish from nameless lakes, ESPN Outdoors got a makeover with four new shows angling for channel surfers during Monday Night Football. “Totally Hooked” was set to debut Monday.
A few beers might have made it go down easier. The real fishermen on the show, the charter boat captains, are silent chauffeurs to six pretty get-alongs selected for a tour on a 78-foot yacht in the Caribbean. Four bikinied blonds(OK, one is a brunet) and two handsome men are seen landing fish after fish.
The tallest tale may be ESPN’s calling it a “fishing/travel lifestyle” program. Drool fuel for the couched masses is more like it. That much is clear from the constant headless bikini camera shots: bikini with fishing rod, bikini with silvery fish. Who knew fishing could be naughty? As model Danan Smith boasts, “I love seeing the look of the other fishermen when we go by. They’re just like, ‘booyah-what?’ ”
