UAL Seeks Extension on Reorganization
United Airlines parent UAL Corp. asked a federal judge for a second extension of six more months to submit a bankruptcy recovery plan.
The request to extend the deadline to April 6 will be heard in court Sept. 19, according to documents filed in Chicago.
If U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Eugene R. Wedoff approves the change, UAL would retain the exclusive right to file a reorganization plan during the period, precluding creditors and others from submitting competing proposals.
UAL sought its first extension in March, through Oct. 6.
