PeopleSoft Seeks Sanction Against Oracle

PeopleSoft Inc. asked a judge to penalize Oracle Corp. for allegedly withholding e-mails from Chief Executive Larry Ellison that are related to his company’s $7.25-billion hostile takeover bid for PeopleSoft.
In papers made public in Delaware Chancery Court, PeopleSoft lawyer Donald J. Wolfe Jr. says Oracle disregarded a Sept. 12 order by Judge Leo E. Strine Jr. requiring a search of Ellison’s business e-mail accounts.
Shares of Pleasanton, Calif.-based PeopleSoft fell 25 cents to $18.75 on Nasdaq. Oracle shares fell 43 cents to $11.60.
