Season’s First Wildfire Prompts Evacuations

A wildfire that has grown to about 1,000 acres forced authorities to order evacuations of eight homes and put residents of a dozen more on alert.
Embers from a small yard fire are believed to have started the blaze Tuesday.
Helicopters and 40 firefighters are battling the state’s first big wildfire of the season, and more fire crews and air tankers have been ordered to the scene west of Fort Collins.
