The city’s 26-year-old December holiday festival will not take place this year because of a lack of money, officials said.
December Nights, previously known as Christmas on the Prado, is the city’s largest free festival.
By June, the House of Hospitality had raised only $40,000 of the $120,000 needed to produce the event, said Executive Director David Kinney. Donors contributed an additional $30,000 after a plea for funds, but it wasn’t enough. The donations will be returned, Kinney said.
