Carnegie exposed

Thanks to the skeptical Christopher Knight, in his informative critique of the Carnegie International exhibition (“A Global Cacophony,” Dec. 5), for questioning the curator’s claim of cataloging a shared goal among artists to “search for what it is to be human.”
Indeed, as Knight argues, such an agenda is hardly unique but has inspired artists through the ages.
How I enjoy Knight’s counterbalancing views to the imperialistic New York art world and its media-friendly hype machines, marketing cliches, self-congratulations and all.
