Nude dancers, stark parallels
The photo of the three nude dancers in “Night Marsh” may be supposed to depict art, but it looks like nothing more than the photos of nude Iraqis piled up at Abu Ghraib prison. After reading the article, I now understand that the MPs at the prison, who have been denounced as sadistic, immoral criminals, were actually artists trying to portray, as you put it, “artistic expressions of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer experience,” and that their stacking of nude prisoners “challenges homophobia with some intimate same-sex partnering.” Thank you so much for the enlightenment.
