Paramount Hires Former MGM Executive

Gerry Rich has been installed as president of worldwide marketing for Paramount Pictures’ Motion Picture Group, succeeding the studio’s 14-year marketing head.
Rich replaces Arthur Cohen, who abruptly stepped down six months ago amid a string of box-office duds that included “Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life” and “Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star.”
Rich, who most recently was advising Miramax Films on campaigns for such films as “Kill Bill” and “Chicago,” was a top marketing executive at MGM and its sister United Artists label from 1993 to 2001. Before MGM, Rich headed marketing at Miramax.
