Re “Activists Win One in Battle Over Pate Foie Gras,” April 27: When is having a tube shoved down your throat against your will and excessive amounts of food pumped into your gut for inexplicable reasons not scary and stressful? Never.

The fact that humans have not experienced daily force-feeding and ducks cannot speak doesn’t make the act any less horrific. All cruelty is unjust, even if some humans can’t relate to or fathom it. Thanks for bringing this reality to your readers’ attention.
