The Tiger Woods Learning Center has been awarded a $3-million grant through the California Urban Parks Act, the center announced Monday.
The money will go toward building the second phase of the 35,000-square-foot center, set to begin this week. The building will have seven classrooms, a computer lab, a multimedia center, a student lounge, a cafe and a 250-seat auditorium.
Woods said in a statement that he was pleased the money would help the center “make a lasting impact” on the community.
