Supervisors Won’t Delay Removal of Cross

The County Board of Supervisors voted 3 to 2 on Wednesday to not delay the controversial removal of a tiny gold cross from the county seal.
Supervisors Mike Antonovich and Don Knabe wanted to wait until after March 1, 2005, as opponents of the change gathered signatures to try to put the issue to a countywide vote. Supervisors Gloria Molina, Yvonne Brathwaite Burke and Zev Yaroslavsky opposed the delay.
