Girl Fatally Hit in Oxnard Driveway

A 2-year-old Oxnard girl died Monday after being accidentally run over by a truck her uncle was backing out of a driveway, authorities said.
Erika Flores was declared dead about 4:10 p.m. at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard after being struck outside her home in the 4300 block of Hamilton Avenue, authorities said.
The girl’s 21-year-old uncle was leaving about 3:45 p.m. and was not aware the toddler was standing behind his Chevrolet Silverado truck, police said.
