A 31-year-old Anaheim Hills resident was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and boating under the influence after a predawn jet boat crash on a remote stretch of the Colorado River near the California-Arizona border left two people dead, authorities said.
Authorities said the suspect, Scott Eickhoff, crashed his 1993 Renegade boat into a concrete pillar on a railroad bridge near Interstate 40 about 3:30 a.m. Monday. Seven other people were on board.
Divers retrieved the bodies of Jennifer Knight, 24, of Corona, and Ryan McMahan, 26, of Arizona, said Julie Tuttle of the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Two passengers are still missing.
