Defense to Get Two Starters Back

UCLA will have two key defensive starters, tackle C.J. Niusulu and linebacker Justin London, back in the lineup for Saturday’s Pacific 10 Conference opener at Washington.
Niusulu, who played sparingly in the first half of last weekend’s victory at Illinois after sitting out two weeks because of a knee injury, will start inside, next to Kevin Brown. London, who suffered a high ankle sprain early in camp, will start in the middle after backing up Wesley Walker against the Illini.
The Huskies, beaten in their opener Sept. 5 by Fresno State, 35-16, just had a week off.
Casey Paus, younger brother of former UCLA quarterback Cory Paus; Isaiah Stanback, who threw only five times and ran seven; and Carl Bonnell each got some time at quarterback for Washington. Against Fresno State, they completed 21 of 48 passes for 190 yards with four interceptions; Paus, who threw three interceptions, accounted for most of the yardage, completing 18 of 39 for 183 yards.

Quarterback Drew Olson made his first college start two years ago at Washington and completed 13 of 27 passes for 189 yards in the Bruins’ 34-24 victory.... Dorrell said the Bruins would continue to rotate defensive linemen but would travel with only 10, because of conference travel restrictions, after using 12 against Illinois.
