Redick Paces No. 1 Duke

J.J. Redick scored 29 points and top-ranked Duke held off No. 17 Indiana, 75-67, Wednesday night at Bloomington, Ind., in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.

The Blue Devils (6-0) withstood a career-high 34-point effort by Marco Killingsworth, who made a three-point basket during an 11-0 run that gave the Hoosiers (3-1) their first lead, 59-58.

“J.J. just refuses to lose,” Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski said. “He’s one of the amazing players to play at Duke. That kid is really tough.”

No. 4 Villanova 86, Rider 57 -- Allan Ray scored 21 points for the Wildcats (3-0), who made 13 of 32 three-point shots at Trenton, N.J.

Jason Thompson had 15 points for the Broncs (1-3), who made one brief run in the second half to cut the deficit to 54-43 with 14 minutes 54 seconds to play.

No. 5 Oklahoma 62, Tulsa 53 -- Terrell Everett scored a career-high 26 points, including three late free throws, and the Sooners (4-0) staved off a late rally by the Golden Hurricane (1-3) at Tulsa, Okla.

No. 6 Gonzaga 89, Portland State 80 -- Adam Morrison scored 34 points to lead the Bulldogs (4-1), who extended their home winning streak to 26 games, second-best in the nation.

The Vikings (3-3), who lost to Gonzaga for the ninth consecutive time, got within eight points in the final minutes.

No. 9 Memphis 97, Jackson State 70 -- Rodney Carney scored 25 points and matched his career high with six three-point baskets to lead the host Tigers (5-1) and counter Clinton Johnson’s 24 points for Jackson State (1-4).

No. 13 Michigan State 88, Georgia Tech 86 -- Paul Davis scored 22 points for the Spartans (4-2), who led from start to finish of the ACC-Big Ten Challenge game at East Lansing, Mich., and handed the Yellow Jackets their second loss in four games.

No. 14 Iowa 45, No. 24 North Carolina State 42 -- Adam Haluska scored 18 points to lift the host Hawkeyes in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.

The teams had season-low point totals and season highs for turnovers. Iowa (5-1) shot 30% and had 19 turnovers; the Wolfpack (5-1) shot 34% and had 24 turnovers.

No. 19 George Washington 85, St. Francis (Pa.) 68 -- J.R. Pinnock scored 20 points, helping the Colonials (3-0) overcome a poor first half at Washington.

Red Flash (2-4) freshman Grant Surprenant, who had scored only 17 points before the game, scored 17 of his game-high 26 points in the first half.

No. 23 Maryland 83, Minnesota 66 -- Travis Garrison had 18 points and 10 rebounds, and the host Terrapins (5-1) overwhelmed the injury-riddled Golden Gophers (2-2) in the second half in the ACC-Big Ten Challenge.
