Pacific 10 Commissioner Tom Hansen was quoted as saying he doesn’t understand why bowls “fall at the feet” of Notre Dame. Perhaps he should audit a marketing course at a conference institution and learn the principle of brand equity. Notre Dame has it. Most Pac-10 schools do not, especially on a national scale.

1. Your record is 9-2.
2. You beat only three teams with winning records -- Michigan (a quality win), BYU (yawn) and Navy (double yawn).
3. One of your losses is at home to a 5-6 team.
4. The combined record of the nine teams you defeated is 42-56.
5. The highlight of your season is a loss at home in green jerseys when your student-fans prematurely storm the field.
