Irvine Woman Identified as Driver in Fatal Crash

A driver who was killed after she smashed her car into a tree in Newport Beach was identified by police Tuesday as Zoya Fateri, 49, of Irvine.
Fateri had been driving westbound on West Coast Highway near Dover Drive on Monday night when her sedan hit a curb and she lost control, police said. The cause remains under investigation, police said.
