U.S. Still ‘Committed’ to Yucca Mountain Project

Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman told lawmakers that while the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste project in Nevada would be delayed, the government was “very focused and committed” to building the facility.
Bodman was questioned about the Bush administration’s commitment to the program after the Energy Department said it would ask for only $651 million for it in the next fiscal year.
