ROSE BOWL
No. 13 MICHIGAN (9-2) vs. No. 6 TEXAS (10-1)
* Site, time: Pasadena, 2 p.m. (Ch. 7).
* Line: Texas by 7.
* Series record: First meeting.
* Bowl records: Michigan 18-17, Texas 20-21-2.
* Last bowl appearance: Michigan lost to USC, 28-14, in the 2004 Rose Bowl. Texas lost to Washington State, 28-20, in the 2003 Holiday Bowl.
* What to watch: Keep an eye on Texas QB Vince Young. The Wolverines struggled against a mobile quarterback against Ohio State, allowing Troy Smith to run all over them for 145 yards. Young has 887 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground this season. If he can get free against Michigan, forcing the Wolverines’ All-American safety Ernest Shazor and cornerback Marlin Jackson to play against the run, it could be a long day for the Wolverines. Michigan will also have to contend with RB Cedric Benson, who ran for 160 yards a game and 19 touchdowns.
