A parolee was arrested late Saturday after disappearing with a 4-year-old boy for whom he had been baby-sitting the night before. The boy was unharmed, authorities said.
At about 10:40 p.m., an hour after an Amber alert was issued, a Sheriff’s Department sergeant saw the blue 2000 Volkswagen driven by Loren Craig Mason, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Bill Spear.
Mason, 41, was taken into custody without incident. Spear said the boy, identified as Ethan Rene Soto-Capps, had no obvious signs of injuries. Mason told his wife on Friday night that he was taking the boy home, authorities said.
