A woman found dead on a street was identified Thursday as the mother of the man accused of stabbing her, Fountain Valley officials said.
William J. Marrufo, 33, a salesman, is being held at Orange County Jail in lieu of $1-million bail on suspicion of stabbing Teresa Marrufo, 58, to death in front of her home.
Neighbors called police shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday to the 9800 block of Gladiola Circle after they spotted William Marrufo wielding a knife, officials said.
Marrufo surrendered after a brief standoff. His mother’s body was found a short time later.
