Attacker Kills 7 at Wedding

BAGHDAD — A suicide attacker sped an ambulance into a crowd of Shiites at a wedding Friday near the village of Yousifiya and blew it up, killing seven people and wounding 16.
Salah Ameri, the groom’s cousin, said the bride and groom were hurt in the attack about 10 miles south of the capital.
Also Friday, an Italian soldier was killed by a burst of gunfire while patrolling in a helicopter near the southern city of Nasiriya, and insurgents attacked several designated polling places outside Baghdad.
In other violence, insurgents targeted four schools in northern Iraq that will be used as polling stations, wounding two people. Three of the schools were hit by rockets and mortar shells, and police said they dismantled a bomb at the fourth.
A dozen gunmen blew up a police station in the town of Hit and reportedly stole weapons, police said. No one was hurt.
A video posted on an Islamist website showed the beheadings of two Iraqis by a group led by militant Abu Musab Zarqawi. It said the victims had worked at a U.S. base in Iraq.
