Jupitermedia to Acquire Image Firm PictureArts

Jupitermedia Corp., which provides Internet research and sells photos and art, said it would buy closely held PictureArts Corp. of South Pasadena for $63.2 million to add images of food and nature to its collection of stock photography. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter.
PictureArts provides images for advertisers, designers and publishers. Its collections include FoodPix food and beverage photographs, the Botanica library of plant images and Brand X, a group of high-end, royalty-free commercial images.
