Freed Killer’s Expected Writing Wages Docked

An acclaimed prison journalist and convicted killer who was recently released from prison has been ordered to pay about $126,000 in court costs and expenses incurred during his fourth trial.
Judge David Ritchie issued the order in New Orleans for Wilber Rideau, basing the decision on a windfall the judge figured Rideau may reap from a writing career.
Defense attorneys were incensed and said they would file an objection.
