Transient Arrested in Bridge-Destroying Fire

A transient has been arrested on suspicion of starting the fire that destroyed the Beverly Boulevard bridge over the Rio Hondo flood channel, authorities said Monday.
Nelson Gastelum, 28, is believed to have set the Nov. 1 fire to keep warm, but the blaze got out of control, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Rothans.
Deputies arrested Gastelum late Friday.
