Northwest Airlines Corp.’s pilots approved $215 million in temporary annual concessions, including a 24% pay cut, to help the carrier lower operating costs.
The cuts will take effect Wednesday and save Northwest about $17.9 million a month. Eagan, Minn.-based Northwest sought bankruptcy protection Sept. 14.
The agreement ends crew meals on U.S. flights and overtime pay for flying more than 80 hours a month.
