A 42-year-old Costa Mesa man stabbed in a Thanksgiving-night brawl involving family and friends at a Costa Mesa home died Sunday, authorities said.
The victim was stabbed several times in the chest. He was in critical condition after the fight and taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, where he died, said Mitch Sigal, deputy supervising coroner for Orange County.
The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of his wife, who was in Mexico visiting relatives, Costa Mesa police said.
Two men arrested at the scene were being held without bail on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
Humberto Vega, 20, of Costa Mesa was booked at Costa Mesa Jail; a 17-year-old, whose name was not released, was being held at Juvenile Hall.
