Yemeni Gets 45 Years for Al Qaeda Conspiracy

A Yemeni man arrested after an FBI sting operation was sentenced to 45 years in prison and fined $750,000 for conspiring to support and fund Al Qaeda and Hamas.
Mohammed Mohsen Yahya Zayed, 32, was convicted March 10 by a federal jury. At a hearing in federal court in New York, Zayed was sentenced to 15 years and fined $250,000 for each of three counts. His sentences are to be served consecutively.
His colleague Sheik Mohammed Ali Hassan Moayad, 56, was sentenced in July to 75 years and fined $1.25 million in the same case. For each of five counts, Moayad received 15-year sentences, to be served consecutively.
