Truthfulness needed on pedophile priests

Re “Details on 11 Priests Missing in ’04 Report,” April 20
By revealing the names of pedophile priests and leaving other names out, L.A. Cardinal Roger Mahony is doing the work of the devil. The man is a common bureaucrat, not a spiritual leader.

I would argue that if Mahony heard the confession of a priest who molested a child, the cardinal should be forced to reveal the content of that conversation. Call me crazy, but I believe that my right as a parent to know if my child has been sexually abused is more important than a conversation between a priest and a bishop. I also believe that no one is sheltered from their basic duty to cooperate with law enforcement, especially regarding the abuse of a child.
