Commuting makes sense, calm or not

Re: “Relaxed Commute? Ha!” [Aug. 14]: I fail to see the point of publishing this article. Who’s to say the stress wasn’t the result of the everyday pressure that people live with all the time, for example, worries about work and family, lack of time, potential delays, etc.?
But even if the findings of this study are accurate, it is counterproductive to try to dissuade people from using alternative forms of transport.
It is still better for the environment if people take the train to work. And, in the end, we all benefit from the reduced auto pollution.
