Branching out: Dr. Sanjay Gupta, who has reported medical stories for CNN since 2001, will contribute as many as 10 stories to the “CBS Evening News With Katie Couric” next year. Gupta, 37, will continue at CNN.

New series: “Armed & Famous,” an unscripted series about former “CHiPs” star Erik Estrada and four other celebrities who become reserve police officers in Muncie, Ind., will premiere Jan. 10 on CBS.
