* Newcastle Partners and Steel Partners II said Fox & Hound Restaurant Group agreed to their $16.30-a-share takeover offer, ending a competing buyout attempt by Levine Leichtman Capital Partners of Los Angeles.
* Weight-loss company Jenny Craig Inc., which is majority owned by private equity firms ACI Capital Co. and MidOcean Capital Partners Inc., said it had hired Goldman, Sachs & Co. to look at its options, including a possible sale. Carlsbad-based Jenny Craig employs about 3,000 and has about 650 company-owned and franchised centers.
* Palm Inc.’s third-largest shareholder, Mark Nelson, urged the board to consider selling the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based maker of hand-held computers and phones because profit margins are likely to fall as competition increases.
