GOP abets lawlessness

Re “Spying Inquiry Blocked by GOP,” Feb. 17
The willingness of the GOP to stand up for, rather than against, the lawlessness of the Bush administration leaves me wondering if the terrorists haven’t already won. President Bush apparently has discarded the Constitution in favor of unlimited power and is aided and abetted by the corrupt GOP-controlled Congress. We are now a nation of the rule of men rather than the rule of law. If this same behavior were displayed by a foreign government, would we not consider it repressive and anti-democratic? How then can we say that the terrorists “hate our way of life”?
What has become of the American way of life at the hands of Bush and his henchmen?
