No matter how it turns out, Mike Scioscia deserves considerable praise for the job he has done this year. When the Angels failed to meet expectations while below .500, the team’s season easily could have gone downhill. The situation was ripe for the blame game, dissension and panic.
Instead, under Scioscia’s steady leadership, the Angels stayed the course and eventually caught fire.
