ON her first trip to Costa Rica, Renee Schmiederer won an airline photo contest, winning a two-night hotel stay. When she went back in May, she shot this one: a red-eyed tree frog. She took it with a Canon Digital Rebel XT not far from the Peace Lodge, a resort in the La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park. “It was raining, so that leaf was really wet, and the frog popped out,” said Schmiederer, a graphic designer from West Los Angeles.
