Eleven people were taken to hospitals after a pickup truck collided with an MTA bus on Firestone Boulevard in South Gate on Saturday afternoon, police said. There was no sign of serious injuries in the 3:30 p.m. accident at the intersection of Firestone and Otis Street, but all the injured complained of pain, Lt. Francis Arocha said.
The pickup was making a left turn when it hit the eastbound bus, he said. No one was cited, but Arocha said an investigation was continuing. A traffic signal was damaged, and traffic was tied up for about two hours.
