Relatives Convicted of Killing Young Bride

A Danish court convicted eight family members and a friend of murdering a woman and wounding her husband two days after their wedding in what the prosecution said was a so-called honor killing.
Ghazala Khan, 18, was shot outside a train station in eastern Denmark. Police said Khan’s father, who immigrated from Pakistan in 1970, had led a hunt for the couple.
A witness took a photo of her brother standing over her with a gun, with her husband, Emal, 27, doubled over after being shot in the abdomen.
The defendants could be sentenced to life in prison. They denied that they had decided to kill Khan because they disapproved of her marriage.
