Memphis Struggles in 80-74 Upset

Marvett McDonald had 17 points and Alabama Birmingham held No. 3 Memphis scoreless for more than eight minutes down the stretch Thursday night in an 80-74 upset of the Tigers at Birmingham, Ala.
McDonald’s basket gave the Blazers a five-point lead with 2:47 to go, and Alabama Birmingham made six consecutive free throws in the final 33 seconds to snap Memphis’ 15-game winning streak.
Darius Washington scored 17 points and Joey Dorsey finished with 11 points and 16 rebounds for Memphis, 26-3 overall, 12-1 Conference USA, which already has clinched the No. 1-seeding in the conference tournament.
No. 24 Nevada 83, San Jose State 60 -- Nick Fazekas had 20 points and 12 rebounds and the Wolfpack (23-5, 12-4) clinched the Western Athletic Conference title at Reno.
Demetrius Brown had 16 points for the Spartans (6-23, 2-13), who lost their seventh in a row.
No. 25 Michigan State 74, Wisconsin 65 -- Paul Davis scored 27 points and the Spartans (20-9, 8-7 Big Ten) toppled the Badgers (19-9, 9-6) at East Lansing, Mich. Alando Tucker scored 23 points for Wisconsin.
