Man Kills His Children and Self, Police Say

A man fatally shot his two children and himself during a standoff with police at his home near Swanton after he stabbed his wife in the abdomen and shot a sheriff’s deputy, authorities said.
Clarence Saunders, 58, Lauren Saunders, 10, and Jacob Saunders, 5, were found dead in the home after a negotiator made several calls to the residence, according to the Fulton County sheriff’s office.
Deputy Rick Brock and Patricia Saunders were flown by medical helicopter to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, police said. Hospital officials would not disclose their conditions.
