Passenger dies in alleged drunk driving accident

A Rancho Santa Margarita man was killed and five people were injured Saturday in a drunk driving accident, the California Highway Patrol said.
Dennis Mihelic, 40, died of a head injury, the Orange County coroner’s office said.
The accident occurred about 10 p.m. Saturday when Douglas Brozovich, 41, was driving north on Antonio Parkway in Ladera Ranch. He lost control of a Ford Excursion and crashed into a Ford pickup driven by a 23-year-old Rancho Santa Margarita man, the Highway Patrol said. Brozovich was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Mihelic was a passenger in the SUV. Brozovich and another passenger in the SUV were injured. The driver of the pickup suffered major injuries, and his passenger suffered moderate injuries.
