Raivio leads Gonzaga past Pepperdine, 69-52

Derek Raivio scored 14 of his 19 points in the second half Monday night to lift Gonzaga to a 69-52 win over Pepperdine at Spokane, Wash.

Josh Heytvelt added 18 points and Sean Mallon had 17 points and tied his career high of 10 rebounds for Gonzaga, 11-6 overall and 2-0 in the West Coast Conference.

Chase Griffin led Pepperdine (4-14, 0-2) with 16 points and nine rebounds. Marvin Lea scored 15 points for the Waves, who shot 30% from the field and were outrebounded 49-29 in their fourth consecutive loss.

Gonzaga extended its winning streaks to 46 home games (the longest active streak in NCAA Division I), 25 WCC games and 11 games versus Pepperdine.

The Bulldogs evened the all-time series with Pepperdine at 31 wins apiece.

Portland 81, Loyola Marymount 65 -- Senior Matthew Knight scored 24 points, but the Lions were routed in a WCC game at Portland, Ore.

The loss was the fifth straight for the Lions (8-10, 0-2).

The Lions trailed by as many as 25 in the first half and trailed Portland (6-12, 2-0), 41-18, at the break.
