T.I. gets some R-E-S-P-E-C-T

It’s a split personality week at the top of the U.S. pop charts: The new No. 1 seller is rapper T.I.’s fifth album, “T.I. vs T.I.P.,” a title that he says he refers to the internal competition with his alter-ego, which he calls T.I.P.
“T.I. vs T.I.P.” sold a robust 468,000 copies, the second-best debut-week total this year, trailing only the 623,000 mark set by Linkin Park’s May release of “Minutes to Midnight.”
L.A. rock band Velvet Revolver’s new album “Libertad” debuts at No. 5 with sales of 92,000 copies. The band consists of former Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland, Guns N’ Roses alums Slash, Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum plus Dave Kushner of Wasted Youth.
Ex-Destiny’s Child’s Kelly Rowland debuts at No. 6 with “Ms. Kelly,” which sold 82,000.
