Hollywood makeover

Swing by Hollywood’s best-known intersection and you just may find a surprise: residents. New owners at the Lofts @ Hollywood and Vine, a 60-unit condo conversion of the former Equitable building, have begun moving into the 1929 landmark. Residents have their first official meet-and-greet tonight in four “designer lofts,” where they’re bound to find ideas worth borrowing. Created by Kenneth Brown and Pamela Shamshiri, the model units include the space shown here, where Shamshiri crafted a vibe that’s at once modern and retro, urban and California causal. www.theloftsathollywoodandvine.com.
