Steel mounted, forest rooted
From his home in Indonesia, French sculptor Jerome Abel Seguin uses industrial steel to mount polished slabs of ironwood timber ($15,000 each, left), the cross-sectioned trunks and branches stretching out like surreal art. His oversized Slice table ($11,000), also shown here, consists of natural chunks of teak on stainless steel legs -- modern furniture with exotic tropical roots. The pieces are available at the Ralph Pucci International showroom in the Pacific Design Center, 8687 Melrose Ave., Suite B-203, West Hollywood; (310) 360-9707; www.ralphpucci.net.
