Steel mounted, forest rooted

From his home in Indonesia, French sculptor Jerome Abel Seguin uses industrial steel to mount polished slabs of ironwood timber ($15,000 each, left), the cross-sectioned trunks and branches stretching out like surreal art. His oversized Slice table ($11,000), also shown here, consists of natural chunks of teak on stainless steel legs -- modern furniture with exotic tropical roots.
