Re “Prison medical reform plan is released,” May 11
Assemblyman Todd Spitzer (R-Orange) complains that federal receiver Robert Sillen seems to have no interest in treating the Legislature as an active partner in the improvement of prison medical care. This, of course, is the same Legislature that sat around for years and did nothing about the problem. Spitzer and his colleagues have no standing to complain. To the contrary, I should think the Legislature will be seeing more receivers dealing with many other major issues it has not addressed.
