Springsteen is out on vinyl

Turntable junkies, your loyalty just paid off. Although most Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band fans will be waiting until next week to download or pick up the CD of the group’s new album, “Magic,” anyone still in possession of a functional turntable could start listening as of Tuesday.
The vinyl version of the band’s first album in five years trickled into retail stores in limited quantities. Amoeba Music in Hollywood reported a shipment of 30 copies.
It’s not, however, strictly a reward for the dwindling devotees to 20th century audio technology. By releasing it in some form by Sept. 30, the album is now eligible for 2007 Grammy Award consideration.
